Why we love it
Travelling with family to Zanzibar Island for a beach holiday is a great opportunity. The people of Zanzibar graciously welcome families and the Island is filled with child-friendly activities, parks and hotels that cater to young kids with care and attention. Zanzibar has long maintained an Old-World charm and very respectful people. The Island has just enough all-inclusive first-class hotels in Stone Town and superb beach resorts along the Island’s coastline on white sand beaches within short driving distances from Stone Town and walking distances to inland smaller villages and marketplaces, which makes Zanzibar well-rounded for families.

Tembo House Hotel provides the perfect launchpad for families to stay at Shangani waterfront area. It’s ideally close to the Forodhani Gardens and the inner labyrinth streets and historical sites of Stone Town. The hotel has 37 rooms of varying sizes and comforts. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms and most have balconies overlooking either the beach, or the hotel’s courtyard pool. The breakfast buffet, included is simple but generally very good. The restaurant serves both local and international dishes and the friendly staff are well trained and helpful. |

Road transfer to Spice Plantation Farm and thereafter visit the Mtoni and Mahurubi Ruins. In the afternoon a short guided walk will take you to the seafront for your boat trip transfer on the Prison Island Tour. |

The Sea Cliff Resort & Spa is one of the few family-friendly resorts with a ‘Kidz Club’ with specialised activities to keep the little ones entertained. It also has a safe, and happy environment for children to explore while parents enjoy some downtime at the nice spots. The onsite Mangapwani and Kobe restaurants serve delicious local and international cuisines throughout the day, and three lounge bars offer relaxed recreational bases from which to sit back and watch the world go by. The facilities include Wi-Fi Internet access, laundry services, direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV and en-suite showers in the rooms. Each room has a hairdryer, safe, and a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and air conditioning as well as a private balcony. |
